She walked energetically down the pathway that led it's way around the school grounds. It was a cloudy, windy day. Her long dark hair was whipped around carelessly. There goes my good hiar day; Lisa thought to herself irritably. She snorted with irritation at the wind and finally grabbed a hairtie from her pocket and bound her wavy hair into a tight and unescapable ponytail, low down. She was having a great day so far. She had just gotten her paper back on the history of magical ghosts that haunt our halls, from the History of Magic class. She had (of course) gotten an A. She had also flirted majorly with this guy she'd just met. Bonus! She probably won't even see him again, but at least she knows that her flirtation skills are developing nicley.
Lisa stopped short when she saw the Whomping Willow. "Oh shoot!" She whisperes to herself. She'd forgotten the crazy magical willow was over this way. She'd walked all this way too...Ah well, she'd just have to stay here. Far from the willo's reach though. She'd come over here for some quiet study time. She stared long at the majestic willow. It was huge and magic came off it in vibes. It twitched, and smacked a bird which flew to close. Lisa shivered. She never could get used to that thing. Taking a deep breath, which sounded more sighlike than anything, Lisa sat down on some dry grass and plucked a huge text book from her bookbag.
She opened it to page 349, the History of the Greats. She blinked slowly. She had to study for this test she had in a couple of days. She scanned breifly through the intro then went back and read it thouroughly. Better not skimp, I'm not gonna fail this thing. She said to herself. She had soon learned the names, ages, and time of deaths, plus the favourite classes of the three most great wizards known. She sighed and glanced up at the tree. It was stirring slightly, then WAM! It wacked a huge branch not five feet away from Lisa. Lisa scrambled to her feet stuck the book back in her bag and turned to run. The damn tree tripped her and she fell flat on her face. Cursing, Lisa scrambled backwards, out of reach of the Whomping Willow. Holy cow! What had gotten into this thing?! She thought desparatley.
When the tree couldn't reach her any more she got to her feet. Her hiar was a mess. She grabbed a brush from her back, ran it through her hair than put it back. She took a deep breath gathered herself then sat on a stump, far, far, from the willo's grasp. man, what had just happened. Lisa couldn't bring herself to study again so she just stared thoughtfully at the now distant form of the Whomping Willow. It gre still now, like nothing ever had happened. This frusterated Lisa. She screwed up her face, and made it into an angry scowl while searching the Whomping Willow from a distance.

RING! The lunch bell rang and Amberlynn was still in her seat. She was a bit late for class today seeing as she'd helped the house elves make lunch during her free period. As she finished up scribbling down the notes she looked up at the teacher. He nodded and a large smile appeared on Amberlynn's face. She picked up her bag from the ground stuffing her book and wand into it. She then fled from the room faster than a bird could fly.
Not really wanting to go to lunch Amberlynn decided to take a walk. She walked along the shore of the black lake thinking if she should photograph anything in the area or wait till the weekend when she had more time. She pulled out her camera and looked up. She saw the Whomping Willow near-by and decided that she needed a new subject and that that tree would be perfect. Smiling Amberlynn walked closer to the old tree and stopped not to far from a Ravenclaw girl. She took a couple shots of the tree and took a couple steps back. She took another shot of the tree but unknowingly with the girl in it.
Amberlynn put the camera back in her bag and walked over to the girl. She looked at what she was reading and knew that she was either an advanced student or a seventh year. "Hello." Amberlynn said softly to the girl. "What you reading?"

Lisa blinked. She closed the book and shoved it back into her bag. She looked up at the girl who had inturrupted her thoughts. The first thing she saw was the yellow badge on her robes, and the badger. Lisa then looked up to the girls face. Her voice was soft. Lisa smiled gentley and answered promptly. "Oh, just a History of Magic 7th year, textbook. I've got this major test in a few days." Lisa paused to sigh in self-pity, then continued. "What's your name?" Lisa shifted over on the very large stump she was seated on and patted the open side with her hand. welcoming the girl to sit down.
This girl was probably a 6th or 5th year by the looks of it. Hmm...Lisa considered her for a moment. maybe she should tell her story of what happened with the Whomping Willow. However sincere Lisa was she loved a good gossip. Lisa made a mental note to herself. When she tells me her name, and I find out how she is and all that stupid convo stuff I'll tell her. Lisa sneaked a peak at the Whomping Willow, out of the corner of her eye. She could remember the fear she felt. She quite thought she was going to die, when that tree attacked her. Luckily she only got a small scratch on her arm. Lisa now wore her Ravenclaw robes. She looked deathly stylish in them, for sure.
Lisa felt smug as she realized that she probably looked better in her robes than this Hufflepuff girl looked in hers. Lisa waited patiently for a reply. She thought about how she would tell her story, how to make it seemed like she was all brave, and cool. She shook her head at herself mentally. Such a bragging brat! She scolded herself internally. She didn't need to prove herself to anyone. Where had that thought come from? When had this been about proving herself? Lisa hardened her thoughts to this. She was tender in that spot. Her gramma never approved of her, really. She always felt the need to prove herself. Now those thoughts were long gone. She hadn't seen her gramma in years. So why were those thoughts coming back? Lisa shrugged mentally and lifted her gaze to the Hufflepuff girls face, and smiled again, waiting for a response.

(( Doesn't matter))
Something about this girl Intrigued Amberlynn. She didn't know why, but she was able to make friends easier with the older students than with those of her own age. Was it that she was smart like all other Ravenclaws or that she was studying by one of the most bad-ass trees ever. Amberlynn shrugged it off not really care how or why she liked this girl even if she didn't know her.
She nodded. "Looks complicated." She said recalling what she'd seen in the book and not really understanding it. Although she was only in her sixth year so it didn't really matter. She'd learn about that stuff next year. "Names Amberlynn." She replied sitting on the empty spot on the log. "Whats yours?" Amberlynn took off her hat and set it down on her lap. She fixed her now messy hair and let the wind blow throgh the dark locks.
Amberlynn hoped that she wouldn't have to tell this girl her Whole Life story. It would bring back to many horrid memories that she was still trying to forget. That one memory about her friend still burned her brain each time she thought about it. It was like a plauge that wouldn't leave.. Ever.
She smiled at the girl as she waited for a reply from her. Maybe after this day she'd see her again and maybe not either way she'd have had a lovley lunch period talking and getting to knwo someone new.

Lisa smiled even bigger as the girl sat down. She felt smug, only she didn't show it. Knowing that a sixth grader can't understand the work that seems so easy to her, made her feel good. Lisa felt happy about the fact that she was smarter than someone. Lisa was good at making friends. She was a happy person and drew others to herself. This helped alot, in her life. Then the gril; Amberlynn, spoke. Lisa chuckled then shrugged her shoulders. "It's not that complicated at all. It's actaully pretty simple. If I wanted to I could teach you right here and now, and I bet you would get it. But you have all of next year to learn it." Lisa paused and took up her friendly smile once more. "My names Turpin. Lisa Turpin, of Ravenclaw House, but you can already tell that. Just like I can see your from Hufflepuff House." Lisa couldn't wait to tell this girl about the Whomping Willow incedent. She squirmed inside with impatience to tell it.
Then Lisa cocked her head slightly and got a curious look in her extremely pale ice blue eyes. "What brings you down here, on a day like this?" She was curious of it, yes. She didn't know why she was here. Who other than herself would come to the Whomping Willow to study on a retched windy day like this? This thought aroused new questions. Lisa pushed the questions down and waited, back straight, posture perfect, for a response. All the while she kept wondering and waiting for an answer. She was so intrigued by what possible answeres there may be the the question she had just asked. Perhaps she was just passing through here to the Care of Magical Creatures class. But this is way off course. Suddenly Lisa got suspisious. That suspision died away instantly. It's none of her business. Don't be so nosy! She mentally whapped herself on the head in scolding. Then sat p[icture perfect waiting for a response.

Amberlynn looked at the girl. Lisa was her name. That'd be cool." She said smiling. She felt accepted. She'd never really liked to talk to people, but she loved to make friends. And she was good at it. Amberlynn was a complicated person and she knew it. She wasn't going to deny it either.
Amberlynn smiled wider. "Nice to meet you." She rolled the sleeves of her robe up but they just fell down again. She looked down at them and sighed. Well, that's not very nice." She mumbled to them. She looked back at Lisa and smiled. "Me? Oh.. Um.. Nothing really." She said. "Just a bit of photography." Amberlynn didn't really think that was the real reason. The truth was she didn't really have one. All she wanted to do was walk around and skip lunch.
"What about you?" She asked. "Not many people study outside on a windy day such as this." Amberlynn did think it was kinda strange but who wouldn't? Shrugging it off for the moment. She started to look across the black lake at the mountains as she waited for Lisa to answer.

Lisa was watching the Whomping Willow. She was planning on hw to go into the story. She finally decided to be mysterious, to lure Amberlynn into asking her about it. Lisa smiled happy with her devious and clever mind. She loked back at Amberlynn, appraising. She caught a few of her answers. She focused on the last one. She was doing photography...In some sense Lisa was dissapointed. Thats not very interesting at all! She thought to herself. She caught her face just when it was about to put and turned it up into an amused smile when the question was returned. She answered readily. It's not like she was hiding anything.
"I like to study near the Whomping Willow. It has a certain reputation that makes people avoid this place. Therefore it's a good place to study, if no one is around to make noise, or disturb you. Plus the Whomping Willow is such an intriguing magical tree. I'm attempting to research it on the break." Lisa just realized that she was staring off into space preoccupied by her own thoughts. She looked back at Amberlynn with a smile on her face. She turned the question around again. "But today, the Whomping Willow is acting very strange..." The trap was set. To make things more interesting she would avoid the questions by asking her one then see if she goes after the trailing of comment. "Photography, eh? Can I see some of your pictures?"
Lisa hoped that Amberlynn would answer the question, sure but then ask about why the Whomping Willow was acting strange today. Lisa had nothing to worry about. It's human nature to wonder, think, ask questions. Amberlynn would probably die of curiousity if she didn't ask. Lisa stopped smiling like agoofy idiot and turned her exprssion into something more respectable. A small intrigued look with happyness too, but without the slightly gawkish smile. Friends were so easy to make. Lisa would enjoy being friends with Amberlynn. Like she enjoyed every friendship of course. Lisa blinked slowly, in waiting, while these thoughts ran through her mind.

Amberlynn listened to Lisa's answer and nodded at times. They listened to her question and nodded reaching into her bag. She looked around for a second and pulled out a bunch of moving black and white photos. Most of them were of things like flowers or other plants. She even had a couple of animals and magical creatures such as House Elves and maybe a couple fairies. Amberlynn handed the small stack over to Lisa. "These are a few I've taken over the last month." She explained lightly.
She thought that it was weird that the old tree was acting up it never had. She'd always loved to just sit on the shore of the black lake with her feet in the chilled water watching it flitter around as it did. Ever since her first years when it had first been waken in a long time.
Amberlynn looked back over at Lisa. Her brow furrowed. Why is it acting up?She asked. "It never has before. It's always been calm. Well.. Not really but you know what I mean." She looked over at the Willow and thought about why it was acting so strange. Hm... I wonder why... She tought to herself waiting for an answer.

Lisa took the pictures from Amberlynn's hands and nodded appreciatedly. She flipped through them slowly. Examining each one carefully. They were really good, she had to admit. Lisa thought she should tell Amberlynn that. All young artists need to be encouraged. Lisa smiled a small smile and looked up at Amberlynn while handing the photo's back after she'd looked at all of them. "Those are really good! I love the angle you took them at. The perspective is just right! Have you ever thought of going professional?" Lisa praised highly. They were really great pictures, that was for sure. Lisa felt a slight pang of jealousy. Could a witch even be a photgrapher? She really had no clue.
Lisa looked around swiftly before turning back to Amberlynn to answer the (what sounded like rhetorical) question. Or rather share what had happened to her today. She leaned in and dropped her voice to a dramaticly loud whisper. "Just before you cam I was sitting closer to the Whomping Willow. Then out of no where WAM! It slaps its branch right in front of me. A bit closer and it would have squashed me flat. Without provocation too! Now I have more reason to study eh? So I scrambled back as it attacked and got at this safe distance. Isn't that really wierd?" Lisa was now staring intently at Amberlynn urging her for answers she probably didn't have.

Amberlynn smiled widely as Lisa praised her work. It was a good feeling would tell you that they liked something that you did. That same feeling washed over her and she couldn't stop smiling.. Well she never stopped smiling it what she did. She was always so happy and cheery. Sometimes it made people sick. "Actually I haven't." She said. I never thought I could. I walways thought that photography was for boys. Like jobs I mean but, maybe I could.. If I get good enough.
Amberlynn took the photos from Lisa and slipped them back into her bag as she listened to what Lisa had to say about the Willow. She shook her head lightly. "Thats not strange at all." She said. " Ever since it had been woken up in my first year, it's always loved to bat things around when they got to close. It's what keeps it busy seeing as it's not going anywhere." She looked at Lisa. "That's why when I observe it I like to watch from the lake, my feet in the water and my eyes fixed on it amazingness. The only thing I don't like about it is when it hit's poor birds the fly towards it and end up getting hit."

Lisa was nodding enthusiastically when Amberlynn was talking about her photography. She completely agreed. Amberlynn should really get into it, because she was really good already. Then Lisa was really, sorta dissapointed with the ext thing she said. She was saying that it wasn't odd that the willow was batting at her, and that it was completely normal. Lisa felt a scowl form on her pretty face, twisting it slightly, making her dangerous. Well, that was just great! Now she didn't have any interesting special topic on which to study, in her personal time, and she couldn't tell everyoe about her dramatic espace, from the Whomping Willow, because it was all really normal aparently. Amberlynn had really made her day. Sarcastically that is.
Lisa Turpin really liked to go off studying her own personal subject, and then share her knowledge with everyone, and they'd think she was really smart Plus it was just so fun and cool to study something that seems really interesting then it turns out to be a super cool thing, that you now, know all about. The Whomping Willow was going to be this months new topic. But now, that dream went down the drain faster than you can say: Ravenclaw. Lisa made a little noise that resembled that of: 'hmph'. She was really dissapointed, suddenly the Whomping Willow didn't seem to interesting to her anymore. Maybe now she could stufy the Golden Snitch? About how it comes alive, and darts so quickly; and if it ever gets rusty, or slow when its really old, OR where you buy them, and much more. She made a promise to herself to keep that in mind.
Suddenly Lisa realized how scary she must look with that mean expression on her face and she swiftly rearanged it to something resembling a pretty smile. She ripped her head from the willow, which she realized she'd been staring at while these thoughts went through her mind. She looked at her lap then to Amberlynn. "Well, that's good. I'm glad it's normal for it to do that. I was a tad worried. Also, I really think your good at Photography, you should research some famous witches who have done it or something." Lisa really wasn't glad about this at all. The part about Amberlynn's pictures was true. Lisa's voice kept its happy tone, no one would know she was upset. She was really good at convincing people that she felt one emotion when truley she felt another. Lisa silently wondered where the conversation would lead to next.

Amberlynn gazed over at the Willow watching it each slick almost graceful movement it made made her love herbology. She didn't like it much or was good at it, but she always was amazed with this one plant this one miraculous tree. It was alive.. Well all plants were, but this one was more alive than all the others, it moved not just in the wind but even when the air was still and there wasn't a breeze in sight. It seemed to memorize Amberlynn more than anything. More than photography or helping the house elves. Which reminded Amberlynn that she should have been helping them by now. They must have been worrying about her. She'd always eaten lunch quickly than head down to the kitchens to help with the clean up. But today she'd been so caught up in talking with Lisa that she had totally forgotten.
Amberlynn stood up quickly, looking at Lisa. "Lisa, I'm so sorry. But I forgot I was supposed to meet someone a while ago. I have to go." She said grabbing her bag and making sure that everything was in it. Amberlynn than turned from the Whomping willow and Lisa and ran to the school as fast as she could, and down the stairs into the kitchens where she explained to the house elves why she didn't come sooner.

Lisa Turpin's nagging feeling in her stomach swelled. It wasa strange feeling. She pushed it down. It had just began to annoy her once again, as soon as she finished talking. It had been at her ever since last week when she failed an ancient runes assignment. It was highly unlikley for her to do so. But it happened again. Lisa leaned her head back, despite the fact that Amberlynn was still here. Why was her mind nagging her like this? What was up? Was she missing something? Lisa sat back up straight, just in time to here Amberlynn saying goodbye then leaving.
That was a ashort conversation. Lisa shrugged then got up and walked towards the castle. Maybe it was because her mind was wandering away from her school-work, an her grades were getting sloppy. That was probably it, yeah. Lisa promised to herself that she would get her head back into her schoolwork. Starting with this unfinished homework she had yet to complete. So Lisa began to walk very quickly, in a hurry to get to her dorm and spend wahtever it took to finish all her work. Then maybe she would go get something to eat, with a friend. First priority is her schoolwork. She drummed that those words into her mind until she couldn't anymore. Then she was at her dorm and taking out her books. Hmm.
