Despite the fact that he is mostly human, Théodore has some definitive vampiric qualities about him; his skin is immensely pale, with a slight waxy quality, rather like he'd gotten frostbite sometime in his life, but it has lost the yellow-y tint that vampires tend to have. Dark shadows lurk about beneath his eyes, just the same as his distant relatives have, and his canine teeth are definitely visibly sharper than the average person's. Possibly the most drastic similarity, however, is the back of his hands, which are positively transluscent, and his fingernails, which are more like claws than anything else.Personality:
In build, Théodore is unmistakeably a predator; wiry, with compact muscles which may not give him considerable strength, but make him fast and endurant. Not spectacularly tall, standing at 5'9, Théodore doesn't sound like the kind of person who'd strike fear into peoples' hearts. But the name 'vampire' sends shudders through crowds; the perverse idea of being lured into dark corners and having the blood sucked out of them is enough to make anyone a little bit edgy. And besides, there's just something about Théo -- it probably has something to do with the afore mentioned predatory qualities to him.
Dark brown hair fringes his face somewhat messily, growing at a medium length. His eyes are dark brown, appearing almost black in some lights.
Who can explain that charm that snide, arrogant, lazy men always possess? Théodore is all of these things, especially lazy. He never does anything that isn't completely necessary, which means he's not a particularly good student - which is only worsened by the fact that he's not very good at magic (vampires weren't meant for wand-wielding) or book-smart. He's just good at getting himself out of things, a regular old sweet-talker, and eloquent to top that off. He's one of those people who can say the most awful things and make them sound wonderful.History:
However, he's not a very nice person. Part of this is simply his nature, and part of this is necessity. Too much proximity to humans can breach his limits, despite the fact that his lust for human blood is intensely weakened by all the human DNA in him, and he doesn't need to feed off humans to survive. But when you're sitting in a room with you're favourite food, can you resist it? When it's right there, under your nose, tempting you, taunting you, can you turn away from it? As for the part of that relative nastiness that is in his nature, he's simply got an inflated ego and hates the way people always act like his equals when they are clearly not, and constantly feels the need to put them in their places.
Naturally, because of the afore mentioned temptation that being close to humans brings, Théo prefers to be by himself. His laziness makes him abhor the idea of getting into trouble, as he'd have to go to the trouble of charming his way out of it, which can get difficult when people are stubbornly angry at him. Even the most persuasive people cannot change a determined mind easily, after all.
Théodore tends to be extremely proud of himself about, well, everything. He's what you might callreally, reallya little teensy tiny bit conceited. He is, self-declaredly, important, and manages to glorify even his faults in his mind. He's drop-dead gorgeous, in his own opinion, and doesn't give a damn about anyone else's opinion, and besides that he's been spoiled terribly all his life, so he can't exactly help thinking he's great and deserves great things.
For lack of better place to put this, only the slightest french accent clings to Théodore's speech, the r's rolling ever so softly, making is voice a sort of drawl.
It is, quite honestly, a mystery how exactly Théodore's great-grandmother wound up pregnant with a half-vampire child. Is it even possible to, er, reproduce with a vampre? I suppose it must be, or Théo wouldn't be here right now. She disappeared while hiking in the mountains -- a mountain which, coincidentally, is well-known for housing the world's largest vampire coven. She turned up in little village in the foothills of the mountain, and with the help of local police was reunited with her family, although, according to them, she was never the same.Ten Characteristics:
Her family, after whatever happened to her in the mountains, described her as distant, and constantly spaced out. The only thing she ever had attention for was her child, who, ironically, as he was the very reason for her living, took her life in his eighth year of life. Not out of malice, mind you, although not exactly unintentionally, he just got hungry. Several people attempted to assume custody of the strange child, but the majority of them wound up dead. At the age of thirteen he abandoned society, regarding humanity, wizards and muggles alike, as simple fodder.
It's a complete mystery how Théodore's grandfather managed to keep himself from eating his grandmother in the act of impregnating her, but it can be assumed that he did it the same way his father before him did. This second woman to give birth to a partially vampiric child showed many of the same symptoms the last had. She became distant, her world revolving completely around her daughter. This half-monster had more control over herself, and kept her mother alive, although she left the poor woman just after turning fifteen.
Théo's mother, being stunningly pretty, became a model. She sat there and let people take photographs, draw pictures, and pant paintings of her, and got quite rich from it all, with very little work on her part; all she did was sit there. Her relationship with Théo's father was rather like that of the black widow's with her unfortunate mate. When he'd done what she'd needed him to, she drank his blood and never spared him another thought. Théodore was spoiled terribly, and, as his father had been a wizard, he was sent to the most prestigious wizarding school in France. Unfortunately, a corrupt business partner drained the Lablanche family of much of its funds, and Théo has been forced to transfer to Hogwarts for his last year of school.
Not that he cares much, he speaks nearly fluent english and he's not very good at magic whether he's at some expensive school or not.
